T.K.Lee has been involved with American franchise system since 1994. Started as a Master Franchisee for a global IT education franchise in multiple countries in South East Asia, TK has been an owner, operator of company own franchise centers, a franchisee to the US franchisor, a franchisor to the subfranchisees as well as elected representative for Asia in the Franchise Advisory Council in the US franchise system.
T.K.Lee was the first master franchisee for an international franchisor, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers,Inc. in South East Asia. New Horizons Computer Learning Center has over 300 centers worldwide. Started as a small franchise center in 1994 in Kuala Lumpur, he grew the single New Horizons center to a network of 10 centers via subfranchising and company owned centers around Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia in South East Asia and earned numerous awards and acknowledgements within 5 years.
Included in this list of distinctions are: New Horizons International Location of the year for 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 for Kuala Lumpur center and Asia Pacific Location of the year in 2002 as General Manager of New Horizons Singapore center. In 1999, he also won honors as the Microsoft CTEC of the year for Malaysia, New Horizons Asia Pacific Master Franchise Excellence Award, and the New Horizons International Marketing Best Practices Award. It is also in the same year that his Malaysia operation ranked 19 th in the Enterprise 50 Award for SMEs by Anderson Consulting and the Malaysia Ministry of Trade and Industry. He has been an elected member of New Horizons Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) representing Asia Pacific region for 2 terms from 1997 to 2001.
